On the ground floor, the main sitting room is dominated by a large inglenook fireplace, home to a wood burner. This room also has a stable door out into the back garden and access to a downstairs shower room and lavatory. There is also a study and a smaller sitting room/dining room which features another, smaller inglenook fireplace. The kitchen, situated at one end of the house, has a door to the garden and an Aga. There is also an electric cooker in the utility room, which adjoins the kitchen.
Upstairs can sleep 8. There are four bedrooms, each with double beds. One of the beds can be split into two singles. Two of the bedrooms are adjoining, with the furthest known as the ‘Virgin’s Room’, an ancient term used to describe accommodation that could only be accessed via the parents’ room! These two rooms share a large family bath and shower room. The other two bedrooms use the downstairs shower and lavatory. The house has wi-fi and there are televisions in both sitting rooms, the kitchen, and two of the bedrooms. Outside, the house has a large well-stocked west-facing garden overlooking fields. There is a terrace and chairs and table for dining alfresco, when the weather is warm. There is ample parking at the front of the house. All towels and linens will be supplied, as well as crockery and a small hamper of essential food stuffs. Babysitting can be arranged.
